Equal Exchange Coffee

Oct 30, 2014 | Rita

Equal Exchange Coffee
Disclosure: This post was brought to you by Mambo Sprouts and Equal Exchange Coffee.
You all know how much we love coffee around here! One of the best things about having a single serve coffee maker is that when the whole family is here everyone can have whatever blend they like the most. That is one of the reasons I was super excited to try Equal Exchange Coffee which just happens to be an organic, Fairly traded coffee in an environmentally friendly single serve cup (K-cup.) Who could want for more?

About Equal Exchange

Equal Exchange is a  company that is dedicated to supporting fair trade to create a more sustainable world. Started in 1986, founders Rink Dickinson, Jonathan Rosenthal and Michael Rozyne created  Equal Exchange to challenge the existing trade model. A model which favors large plantations and big business. Equal Exchange  supports small farmers and empower consumers to make purchases that support their values. Because of their longstanding relationships with coffee co-ops, Equal Exchange can source the best beans from each harvest. You learn more, visit the Equal Exchange About Page.

Unwind Decaf

3 Flavors

I was sent 3 flavors of Equal Exchange Coffee to try out: Organic Breakfast Blend, Organic French Roast, and Organic Unwind Decaf. I prefer a light blend so the Organic Breakfast Blend is perfect for me. It tastes wonderful and is much lighter than (to me at least) than your average coffee. I am loving having a cup each morning! My mother prefers a darker roast so the Organic French Roast is her new favorite and I am sure when my brother comes to visit he will love it as well. She loves the full body flavor of it. While the Organic Unwind Decaf is going to be perfect for my sister in-law who has given up caffeine but still loves to have a cup of coffee in the mornings. If you are worried about the environmental impact of all those little plastic cups let me tell you that Equal Exchange has created a cup made from recyclable plastic and an 88% compostable filter.
