It’s the truth! I hate to workout and will come up with any excuse not to do that. I wish I was one of those people who got up and rushed to the gym. I have to make myself get up and do anything that even resembles fitness.
I mean does eating count cause my arm gets a workout with that! I’m lazy when it comes to working out. So lazy! I always have been. Growing up gym class was something I loathed. To the point that I failed it one year. It is the only class in my life that I ever failed. I remember crying all the way with that report card and my father telling me it didn’t surprise him at all that failed it. He didn’t get as angry as I thought. I told me I need to try harder but that he knew I wasn’t athletic.
I did eventually pass the class. There is just something in me that doesn’t like all of the exercise. Although, I will walk fairs, stores, and many other events all day. I even play badminton, baseball, and other sports occasionally. I’m not sure what that says about me.
I do attempt to make it a point to, at the least, walk everyday. It helps me work through my stress. However I do most of my main workout early in the morning. I have found that when no one is around or up I can workout without feeling judged. I think that is the main part of it. I can remember being teased in high school gym class some. Not enough to be a problem but the occasional word or remark left its mark on me.
That is one of the reasons I love the gym I go to. I can go anytime of the day or night. So if I want to workout before the sun comes and there aren’t people around I can. I also never change in the dressing room. I know that sounds gross but I go in my workout clothes and then come straight home.
One of the biggest things I do when I work out is listening to audio books. I decide before I even go in how many chapters I am going to listen to for that day. I get lost in the book and don’t realize that I am working out. I don’t count, use a timer, or anything else. I just use chapters. Most days I listen to two although I have gone for four. In mind lazy mind it’s not working out so much as reading. I will take the win anyway I can get it!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I am pretty lazy about working out too. Listening to audio books is a clever idea!

For me, I would do better playing a game…volleyball, tennis, golf…anything, instead of working out. I can rarely get anyone to do that, so instead I swim. When I am not being lazy!

I love walking also but got to have my music while walking it helps motivate me to keep up a faster pace

Yes, I workout every chance that I get.

I also hate working out, so this post is totally relatable. I like the idea of listening to an audio book and walking for a long period of time. Low impact and fun with the addition of something stimulating to listen to.

I used to hate working out, but I noticed it started to help ease my anxiety. So now I actually look forward to working out.
