I have had plenty of emails about the extra entry codes in my giveaways. I thought I would take the time to go through and explain how those babies work. They are pretty simple and I will walk through where to find them in the newsletter as well as how to use and what I do to ensure only subscribers use them. Also this is valid for both Rita Reviews and Wickedly Romance.
Where to Find Them
When you receive the newsletter you will find the codes at the bottom of each blog section. In the little black boxes are the code and the expiration date. Along with the fact that it valid for the entire month and 1 set of extra entries into each giveaway on Rita Reviews. The only exception are giveaways I share. those are giveaways I have no control over and you will always be told in the first paragraph that I am sharing it with you.
How Do You Use the Code
When you click the Newsletter Subscriber entry on the Rafflecopter you will get a box like the one shown in the picture above. In the box on the form you enter the code. That is all you have to do. You don’t have to comment saying you are a subscriber or anything else. By you entering that I code I know to verify your entry based on your email and the code for the month.
Verified
I verify each and every single entry for every single giveaway. That is the reason it takes me so long to announce a winner. The process is long but one I have learned not to skip. Any entry (or set of entries) that use the wrong code, a made up code, or anything other than what I have asked for is disqualified. I do sometimes have to disqualify one or two it is never been that many. Wait, one time it was a few years ago. Where everyone just put in the wrong or made up codes to take the entries figuring I won’t check. With the newsletter codes I verify not only that the code is correct but that the person is actually subscribed to the newsletter as well.
When Does The Newsletter Come Out?
I send the newsletter the 1st of every single month. It is called The Rita Report and I always let you know on Facebook (and I am attempting to remember to post on Instagram and Twitter as well) that it has been sent. I make announcements there if it will be late as well.
What if I become a subscriber after the newsletter has been sent for the month and I didn’t get the code for that month?
You will receive a welcome email within 24 hours and it has a code that you can use the first month you sign up. If you sign up on say the 25th, that code is valid until the 25th of the following month.
What if I am a subscriber but I don’t receive the newsletter for that month?
First, don’t panic. I ask that you wait at least 24 hours because some email providers don’t receive it right away for some reason. If you don’t receive or if you delete and forget the code just shoot me an email using the form here and let me know.
I ask that you use the form because it will give me a record of the number of times people don’t receive them. It helps me figure out when there is an issue. Also, it allows my assistant to help out and check things. Please do not comment or message on social media because it will take days if not longer before I see those. I suck at responding to those. I keep trying to get better but email is the quickest way to let me know.
I will email you the link to the current newsletter and you will be able to access it easily. I will also check and see if your email address received it or if it bounced or what may have happened.
