Right now at this very moment, you are afraid. Fear, with deliberate and malicious intent to confuse you, positions eagerly to bring forth the feelings of conflict and desperation. Your thoughts collide as you feel this murmur of conflict and desperation that if allowed to build, will sing a non harmonic chorus that will become a deafening roar. If you are conscious and aware of what is occurring, then you know “the war has begun.” It is a war of “faith versus fear.” A war of “the real versus the unreal.” A war of “the seen versus the unseen.” However, it is your war to win if you so choose.
Your faith is your rock. Jesus stated “upon this rock I build my church.” Certainly, as with any statement, the interpretation of the statement is dictated by whomever reads the statement and how they wish to use it. It can be debated whether Jesus was speaking of a physical building, however, physical or not, faith must be the rock upon which you stand.
The importance of faith cannot be understated. You can sit for hours and read, meditate and engage with your spiritual guides. However, at some point you must prove to you that the information you have been diligently acquiring is true. There is no other way to build “your church of spirituality unless you apply your knowledge.” Knowledge is words without use. Your works are dead without Faith.
According to the Gospels, Jesus was known for being exact in his use of words. Have you given thought as to why he used the word “rock?” Quite possibly, it could have been that he understood the metamorphous a rock undergoes to have a solid exterior. A simple explanation is a rock is formed through elements of liquids, minerals and water. Elements change while the rock is buried and the rock grows according to the liquids, minerals and water which are deposited onto it. However, the substance of the rock remains the same. It merely continues to harden its exterior as everything around it shifts! The outside shifts yet the inside remains true to its core! Again, the inside of the rock remains true to its core.
Can you not see what this means for you? Faith is your protector from the “earthly gods” named fear, worry and doubt. It is the hard shell that prevents you from changing according to their elements. It is the armor that protects you against the elements that fear, worry and doubt deposit upon you and cause you to become frightened. Faith is the substance upon which you build your church of spirituality.
Each situation that arises for you to solve requires your unwavering faith. If only you could “hold onto your faith and not relinquish your thoughts to the utter chaos that fear, worry and doubt love to create. By holding on to your faith, you immediately put an end to the “holiest of wars.” “Holiest of wars” is used because you are preventing that which is holy, “your thoughts and actions”, from being misguided by unreal thoughts, which when matched against your faith, holds no power whatsoever! Thus the reason Jesus emphatically stated “upon this rock, I build my church.”
Have you thrown a rock into a body of water? What occurs? The rock creates a ripple. If you paid close attention to the movement of the water, you notice that after the rock hits the water, the effect of the rock hitting the water creates ripples which flow immediately back toward you. That is the effect of faith, plain and simple.
The question you are asking after reading the ripple effect becomes “if I don’t see any ripples when I toss my rock, is it working?” The answer is a resounding yes! Even within that body of water, there are ripples that are unseen by you. They are deep quiet ripples that can be heard with a discerning ear and seen with the eye of an eagle. Trust the ripple effect and your faith will be rewarded. When you use your faith and toss it upon any situation, the effects of your faith will eventually appear. However, you must” know it and believe it” that your faith” has and is” creating a ripple effect that will return to you. The law of faith has been in existence for millions of years and you must truly believe that this centuries old law will never, ever let you down. While the situation that you are seeking to solve may not show in physical form as soon as you would wish, the feeling of peace should engulf your soul, which is still an immediate and lasting effect, if you truly believe in your rock of faith.
Hold the rock of faith in your hand and toss it upon any situation that requires faith’s help. You will learn that the ripple effect that faith creates will return to you and quite often, better than your earthly eyes could have imagined. Do not become frightened if the voices of fear, worry and doubt whisper loudly in your ear. You must trust in your rock! Why? It’s quite simple and so profound: “faith is daring the soul to look beyond what the eye can see.” If you trust this rock, you will build your church!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Faith is certainly my rock and my renewing agent. It is most certainly the glue that holds me together.
