I have allergies that tend to act up in the moments when it is most inconvenient. I mean who wants to attend a baby shower and not be able to see the gifts because your eyes are so swollen and puffy. I have learned that embracing my belleza while in the middle of allergy face is not always an easy task.
However it is something that I am working on learning and I have a few tips that I have found makes things easier for me and I hope will help you as well:
Drink Plenty of Water. This will help keep your face from looking puffy and will keep it hydrated. Hydrated skin is very important when you have allergy face.
Skip the Foundation. If you must wear makeup skip the heavy foundation for a tinted moisturizer. Your skin will get the moisture it needs and when you have to blow your nose you won’t make your foundation looked caked on.
Never Share Eyeliner. Never share your eyeliner with anyone or use anyone else’s eyeliner. This is the easiest way to pass germs around and the smallest thing can set off your allergies.
Change Your Beauty Brushes. During allergy season or whenever I have a flare up I make a point of changing my beauty brushes. This allows me to thoroughly clean old ones that I am planning on using later and get rid of those that are beyond their “expiration” date.
Get plenty of Sleep. This should be something you do every night regardless of your allergies or not.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Do not wear foundation. I always use foundation to cover up the dark spots around my eyes when I feel the allergies coming on. I will have to make sure to keep this off! I usually have problems in the Spring with my allergies.

Ooo allergies are stressful enough without thinking about how I look, but it’s true that you can lessen the effect of them. Thanks for the tips! I didn’t know about using a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation, so that one I will have to keep in mind! I also have to push myself to stay hydrated and drink enough water.

I cannot stand my allergies this time of year. My eyes are always puffy with bags underneath. I follow all of these tips with the exception of the Beauty Brushes. It never occurred to me to tell you the truth. I will be washing them today!

Get plenty of sleep this is something I definitely need to do. I am not really a makeup person so a tinted moisturizer is much more my speed. My allergies are not too bad thankfully.

I try to drink lots and lots of water. I don’t wear any makeup so that isn’t an issue for me. I do wear a tinted moisturizer though. Both my kids suffer from really bad allergies. So these tips will come in handy.
