Five Ways To Support Your Mental Health With Ease

It’s a sad statistic that as many as 50% of people have had a mental health crisis in the last year. Mental health is a talking point for many, and the growing number of people diagnosed with depression and anxiety is a cause for concern.

If you feel yourself beginning to struggle with your mental health, read on, as here, some of the best ways to help yourself maintain good mental health will be explored.

1. Supplements

Many people have a more balanced diet than people did a hundred years ago. However, a lot of people still suffer from nutritional deficiencies that can drastically impact their mental health.

So, one way to improve your mental health and well-being is to start looking into supplements. Of course, the standard omega-3 and vitamin D will always be beneficial to mental well-being, but there are a few lesser-known supplements that can also be a great addition to a mental health supplement regimen. Nicotinamide mononucleotide, or NMN, can help with to minimize mental health issues such as depression or anxiety, while also ensuring that you look great at the same time!

2. Mindfulness

Mindfulness has become increasingly popular over the last ten years, and for many people who suffer from depression and anxiety, it’s incredibly helpful. There’s the 4-7-8 breathing technique, which can help someone who’s suffering from an anxiety spiral to be more centered, as well as helping with general mental wellness.

There’s now a wide range of mindfulness apps that can be downloaded on smartphones, which can help to support those who suffer from mental ill health. These are free and can take as little as ten minutes a day to complete.

If you find that these exercises don’t do the trick, opting for professional help like drug rehab may be a viable option. Utilizing professional help will allow you to get helpful strategies and tips on managing your addiction or mental illness much more effectively, which can help a lot in the long run.

3. Diet

As hinted at earlier, many people have extremely good diets all round, but it’s no surprise that people who work long hours and drink a lot of stimulants like coffee suffer from higher rates of anxiety.

So, it can be worth looking at your diet if you’re experiencing chronic poor mental health. Aim to up your intake of fresh fruit and veg and cook more meals from scratch. Fatty fish such as salmon and mackerel can also help, as can reducing your consumption of heavily processed foods. Make sure that you’re only eating takeaways or fast food once a week!

4. Green Therapy

Green therapy originates from Japan and is something that goes back centuries. What is it? Well, it’s as simple as walking in a park or woodland or looking after plants in an outdoor space. Humans find

the color green to be very calming, so if you live somewhere urban and you’re feeling down a lot, why not take yourself to a nearby park or walk around a wooded area?

This is one of the leading theories why many dog owners are generally happier—because they get out into green spaces every day.

5. Aromatherapy

Another thing to think about when it comes to mental well-being is the power of aromas or aromatherapy. Nobody likes bad smells, and being exposed to them excessively can have a poor impact on mental well-being.

So, buy some scented candles or incense, and take the time to breathe the scents in. Or you can opt for a plug-in ai
