Fobie Friends Helps Kids Deal with Fear {Giveaway}

Aug 05, 2013 | Rita

Fobie FriendsProductReview Disclosure

Fobie Friends is a series of books designed to help children work through their fears. As you read through the books your children can identify with the characters an you can talk with them about the fear and how to deal with it. This is actually a wonderful idea that I could not believe had not really been done before. Kids love having stories read to them and we read them at bedtime so I have their attention fully and we can talk through things.

Fobie Friends sent me a t-shirt and a set of three books to review and we are loving them. First of all it is rare that we don’t like a book. Children’s books are a hot commodity in our house and an actually book for a review is something that is very rare. The t-shirt is very cute, also the Keychain Plush is so cute! The kids just fell in love with it and I actually clipped it on their bag rather than used it for a keychain.

FobieBook

The first book Did My Owl Just Growl is all about that age old fear of the dark. This story begins the minute the lights go out and with the help of a friend the fearful little boy fights his own fear. The second book Hold Your Seahorses is about the fear of water, another fear that many children have. Again a little imagination and the help of a friend helps this little girl get trough her fear. The third book Climb the Monkey Bars? That’s Bananas! is all about fears on the playground. Like the other two books the little boy is helped by a fun friend. This entire series is so beautifully written and illustrated. Like I said these are so wonderful!

    Climb the Monkey Bars? That’s Bananas! and Hold Your Seahorses! Water is the Worst! are my favorites. I think these are very creatively presented and would do quite a bit in helping prevent phobias in little ones 🙂

    My kids are big readers so I would probably choose something like the “Climb the Monkey Bars? That’s Bananas!” book or the “Did My Owl Just Growl? Interactive ebook.”
