Friday Cocktails – January 6, 2023

Friday Cocktails - January 6, 2023

Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! It’s the first Friday of the new year and I am so excited! I will say that I have been super busy for the past couple of days. We had multiple doctor’s appointments (just normal first of the year stuff), a surgery, an overnight stay at the sleep study center, grocery shopping, and today I am out and about all over again.

My uncle had surgery to deal with his enlarged prostate and things went well. He is at home and resting easily. I will spare y’all some of the remarks he has made about things hurting but needless to say the big baby will be just fine. He will be back to driving the neighborhood crazy with his excessive leaf blowing in no time.

I stayed at the sleep study center and we will see how all of that goes in a couple of days. Hopefully it went well and I can put it behind me. It’s so funny because at the beginning of the year the appointments seem to pile up. Like the first couple of months there are all of the normal yearly tests that have to be done such eye exams, mammograms, hearing tests, etc. As you get older you get more and more of those sorts of tests.

An uneventful week. Which I am thankful for after the holidays. The weather was the only concern with ice rain but all is good now.

This week has been stressful with commuting to work because we had a major winter storm that left a foot of snow and ice covered roads. I had to be pushed into my garage!

The worse neighbors in my subdivision moved. They had a teenage son that was arrested for 3 felonies. Assault of a high and aggravated nature and 2 more charges. He beat some man within an inch of his life, and he just turned 20. I thought he was a lot older. He’s been getting drunk for years. They have been renting for 8+ years! The entire street is crazy with joy. People drive by and are beeping their horns and finally smiling. That kid and his parents have put us all through hell.

I’ve always wondered about what a sleep study is like…must be hard to fall asleep in a strange place anyway, which might skew things…
