Friday Cocktails – July 14, 2023

Friday Cocktails – May 26, 2023

Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! I ended up missing all of these last month. I am also behind in getting the giveaways closed out. I will get that done on Monday. All winners will be emailed and everything posted, etc. This will happen on both blogs. I will also be getting the Authors of the Month and the Backlist of the Month done next week over at Storied Conversation.

The June Month in Review will not be taking place here at all. I decided to skip it. Let me catch y’all up on what has been going on. In June, I took a vacation and while I had huge plans for work I decided to simply enjoy my vacation. It is the first in more than five years that I did very little, if any, work while away.

It was more than refreshing. I focused on my physical therapy and just getting better. I enjoyed myself and spent plenty of time at the pool. Thanks to all of my hard work, guess who no longer needs a wheelchair? I can walk with a walker but I am working towards getting rid of that too.

My doctors think being away from all the stress helped my mind focus on healing more. Whatever it was, I am thankful. I will say the week and a half that I have been back has been a bit hard. It’s hard to get back into a good routine but I could feel the stress ratcheting up while we were driving here. The closer we got the more stressed I got. That is something I am working on changing. It is not an easy task but I know that I have to let a lot of things go that I tend to stress out over.

My week was very busy. My son is on leave from the Navy. He was on an 8 month deployment so he really missed being home.

It’s been a stressful week, between major roadwork inconveniences in town and finding out a beloved college classmate got murdered a few months ago. Hoping for a soothing weekend…

My week has been emotional, tough, scary, you name it. I live in Vermont and we got hit with flooding. Our basement got some water but our downtown took the biggest hit. Roads are buckled and destroyed. Mud and debris is everywhere. Our community has come together to clean up and people from other states have come to help. However, today we have “flooding rains” in the forecast. It will be a long road but we will come back.

My week has been relatively stress free. I had a couple of appointments, visited a friend and my husband and I had a nice dinner together at our favorite restaurant.

My week was good and sad. I spent time with good friends that I had not seen in a few weeks. It is also the anniversary of my mother’s passing. But over all it was a good. week.
