June 3 2022 Friday Cocktails

Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! This week has been pretty quiet around here. I have of course been busy getting things ready for the kids. my brother went to see Top Gun: Maverick and had to call to give me a hard time about it since I wasn’t able to go. Of course he then had to spread 60 bags of mulch the next day in the heat so I guess that’s karma for you.

I actually do want to see the movie simply because I loved it when I was younger. My brother said it was great and that I need to make the time to see this summer. I have spent a little more time this week watching some new things on the television. I’m not a big tv watcher but this week I have been in the mood for it. I watched all of Annika which was so good. It was season one about the Marine Homicide Unit in Scotland. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I hope they have another season.

June 3 2022 Friday Cocktails vacation ready

I have our vacation planned, ready, and scheduled once the kids get here. Most of our medical appointments have been rescheduled til August. That will give us a good break from them. There are a small handful that have to be done this month but that is alright. I now have to work on writing out my pacing list and making sure I purchase everything the kids will need. I’m more than a little stressed because I don’t know what all their dad or his new wife will send for them. There are some summer items here but they may need some new pieces.

I figure at least new swimsuits and shorts. I guess we will see. I am hoping to get new suit for myself this summer as well. I will share it with y’all if I do. I haven’t had a new one in a number of years. I am having a bit of a hard time writing this because as I am my mother is watching Young Guns in the background. It’s funny because she hated that movie when it came out but now she is watching it like it is her favorite movie ever! I guess your taste change as you get older or she’s desperate for something good to watch.

  2. My week was busy, as always! Mainly the dogs…3 of them, 1 that is not my own but I’m being paid to raise. He had a week in the crate due to a sore shoulder and now it’s almost like starting over with heel and other things! sigh.

  3. This week started off pretty crazy with 3 days full of doctor’s appointments for various family members and we are still waiting on the iron infusion appointments for my daughter. But it has calmed a bit and here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend!

  7. My week has been rather slow, not much happening, though I did get to see the movie “Downton Abbey, A New Era” this last Saturday- it’s stunning.

  8. Another uneventful week for me, as I get older and my overall health continues to decline, I find it more difficult to get motivated to do the things that need to be done.

  9. I have a hired a 20yo helper to work with me to get my garden spaces rehabbed and ready for new plants.
    We started this project last fall. This week we got the big veggie garden cleared, fertilized, and tilled.
    and now we are working on edging it and creating a pathway down the center. Its great to be creating a place of beauty and abundance on my property. Got to get my tomato plants and cucumbers in the ground soon!

  10. My week was good, but busy! I had to finish up homeschool grades and submit them. The kids have been wanting to swim the past few days and I took them to the children’s museum today. Everyone is super tired!

  11. Doing better this week. Slowly recovering from my surgery. Managed to cook a meal or two.

  12. I had a good week. I had a few appointments, spent time at the pool with my daughter.

  15. My week was busy with end of school year events. Our schools here have 4 more days to go.

  17. Very slow week learning to walk again with my new hip. Everything takes so much longer to do.

  18. It’s been a really crazy week. I finally got moved Monday and now I’m trying to find things I need and put stuff up.

  19. Had a wonderful Memorial weekend spent with family. Work was a little busy when I got back from the holiday.

  20. My week was kind of dull. The week before we had been on a beach vacation so this week was a lot more boring in comparison.

  21. I had a fun week enjoying the sunshine and spending time with friends that I hadn’t seen for a while.

  22. Pretty quiet week here.
    Volunteering, working out, giving lots of attention to Tabby our cat.

  25. I spent the entire last week offline and it was a nice break. I got a ton done around the house and read a lot.

  33. It has been a quiet week the weather has been raining most of the time. Doing lots of reading.

  34. A great week of basically cleaning out the garage, gardening and binge watching lifetime movies.
