I am so excited that it’s Friday again which means time for Friday Cocktails! We are leaving for our trip this weekend and are super excited about it all. Of course running around trying to get everything done and packed. Make sure everyone has everything they need and I don’t forget things is a bit stressful. However, the moment we get into the car I will be fine.
That means I am going to be offline all weekend as we get out onto the road but that’s okay as well. I will be back to checking emails and getting stuff done on Monday. That is one of the best things about my job, I can work anywhere in the world.
WORKING ON A ROAD TRIP
Yep, I work even while road tripping. All I need is my laptop and an internet connection. I use a mobile wifi device from Verizon for my internet while on the road. It’s not expensive and means I can get internet pretty much anywhere I go. I’m on my own network not using a free one. I like that. I usually spend a little time each day going through emails and checking social media. If there is a post to get done I get it handled quickly and then get right back to enjoying the trip. I work at night when the kids are asleep or early morning before they get up.
WEEKLY FINDS I LOVE
Since we are talking about road trips I thought I would share some of our favorite snacks to take along with us. Of course you can click any of the images to go to the items on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon and you can find all of the items on my various lists here. I add to them all the time so be sure to check often.
Sahale Snacks Glazed Nut Mix Variety Pack: I reviewed these years ago and we have been hooked since. They are so good and the kids love them. These I have on hand all year long and not just for road trips.
P3 Portable Protein Pack: I love these packs. They are so good and I am able to get a little something to help keep my blood sugar steady throughout the day.
Fruit Bliss Variety Pack Organic Fruit Snacks: Even I need a little fruit snack sometimes. These are a little more grown up. Although the kids will eat them if they run out of theirs.
That’s it Fruit Bars Snack Gift Box: The kids all love these and since they are all natural, vegan, gluten free I don’t mind so much. They are an easy sweet treat.
SkinnyPop White Cheddar Popped Popcorn, 100 Calorie Bags: Another snack for me! I love SkinnyPop and having these bags gives me something salty when I need it.
PackIt Freezable Snack Box: Okay this isn’t a snack but anytime we need something cold I use one of these. They can be frozen which makes them perfect. They have that freezable gel permanently on the inside so no little cold pack needed.
GoGo squeeZ Applesauce, Variety Pack: These are for the twins. It is an easy way for them to get a little snack without a spoon.
Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, Multipack Bags: These are for the older kids and myself. The twins don’t really like these much but the older ones do. This is another one I keep on hand all year for them. I do try to limit how many they eat though because of salt.
Black Forest Fruit Snacks Juicy Bursts: Another fruit snack for the twins. They love fruit snacks and I’m okay with them as long as they don’t get the whole box in one sitting.
These are just a few of the snacks that we pack and take with us. Of course I attempt to make sure that we have plenty of healthy snacks but we always end up buying candy when we stop too. I do limit the amount of candy but I felt I needed to mention we do get it so no one thought “That chick is strict with what her kids eat.” I just attempt to get them to eat better.
