Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! This week has been more than a little crazy. First of all Ma found two snakes in the laundry when she pulled them out of the dryer. They were both dead and I should say our laundry room is a small room on the back porch. Chances are they crawled into the vent and then into the dryer but still. It freaked us out so badly. My brother said to stop telling him about these sorts of things.
Look, we live out in the woods and these things happen. However, it doesn’t mean we have to like it or not freak out. We are also getting ready to enjoy Mother’s Day on Sunday which I know many of you are as well. I am thankful for my mother even though we didn’t always have the best of relationships. It was difficult when I was growing up.
She favored my sister and I always felt forgotten. I don’t think it is something she consciously did but it damaged something between us and took many years to repair. There are still days when it is hard. However, she now sees how my sister is and how she treats the rest of us. Before I swear rainbows shot out of my sister’s butt as far as Ma was concerned. We mistreated her for no good reason.
Now, Ma understands that we weren’t mistreating my sister. We were reacting to the way she treats us. The things she did and then went to Ma saying we were being mean or just flat out lying about things we had supposedly done to her. Ma and I slowly rebuilt our relationship after my father died and I was the one to take care of her.
Today we can laugh and share things with one another. She helps me and I help her. She can still be harsh and judgmental at times. Those are things I have learned to overlook as best I can. It is simply the way she is and she can’t help it. It’s a work in progress but one I am glad we were able to accomplish.

I had a pretty nice week. I got a haircut one day and the next spent the day with my sister.
I was on a family vacation this week. My daughter was very excited about getting to ride a helicopter for the first time.
Been a nice week my birthday was yesterday spent it with my family great day.
My week was okay, busy doing stuff around the house.

I had a real struggle trying to keep up with work. Grief is still hitting me real hard, but it was a very busy week for sure.

This has been a rough week. My grandson is sick and he’s cranky. Now I’m not feeling good.
I had a pretty nice week lots of driving though. I am still getting it together for Mother’s Day going shopping tomorrow so I should be pretty busy.
I had a good week. The weather was great. We helped our neighbor by cutting down a tree (well, 2 trees. one had fallen on the other). We got it cut up and removed pretty quickly. It looks great.
A lazy week for me at last! I didn’t do much this week but lounge around binge-watching Stargate SG1 on Amazon Prime!
It has been a long week. Not eventful, but just long.
My weeks been pretty boring just homeschooling my kids, cleaning, and reading when I can. Hope your doing okay!

We celebrated Mother’s Day a little early with brunch on Saturday. I spent most of the week babysitting my nephew! It was good! 🙂
