It’s the first Friday of the month and is it time for Friday Cocktails ! We are a week away from Halloween, give or take a day or so. As I have said before we don’t do a lot for the day. I enjoy Halloween but don’t celebrate it in a big way.
I have been so busy this week. I am preparing for the beginning of next month and my Ma’s surgery. There is a lot that needs to be done both for work and for the house. It will take her about a week, roughly, to recover. That means trying to get things done and have everything ready ahead of time.
So Many Choices
Last week I told y’all about getting a pumpkin when we were at the farm for the corn maze. In years past I would simply pick up a pumpkin at the grocery store and that would be that. This year I wanted to do things differently and make it a little more special. So, we set out to pick a pumpkin. If I had know how difficult that task would be I’m not sure I would have suggested this.
I didn’t know there were so many difficult kinds and colors to choose from. The ones I had gotten were always orange and look perfectly round. I guess when you are selling them for the prices I paid in the past they had to be picture perfect. For as long as it took us to decide (2 hours) I had so much fun listening to the kids argue over the merit of the pumpkin they thought was the best. The only rule I had for getting one is they all had to agree on the one we bought. I didn’t want to come home with a dozen pumpkins which would have done. I think this will certainly become a new tradition.

Are There Ever Enough?
One thing I have caught myself doing is taking more pictures. I’m not sure why but over the course of the last month I have picked my camera back up for more than just work. I had stopped being behind the lens as much and spent more time in front of the lens. It was great and made me feel more connected to everything and everyone.
Yet, my camera has found its way back into my bag. I love taking pictures and even though I’m not that great at it I still spend time doing it. I’m hoping to have some in the next week or so to show y’all. I have just been playing around with things again lately.
