It’s Friday again and time for Friday Cocktails! Not to mention we are well into October which is my favorite month. Not because of Halloween though but because of the weather change that takes place. As I have said many times I love the cooler weather. I enjoy the summer as well but by the end of it I am over it.
Cooler weather means my power bill goes down. Yes, I know that is shameful but there you have it. We aren’t even going to talk about the cost of that bill during the summer with a house full of people all who like to adjust the temperature to their liking. It can drive a gal up the wall. I mean of they would just leave it where it is set and put on more clothing when they are cold.
Bright Fall Foliage
The leaves are beginning to change here which always makes me happy. For me until that happens (which sometimes take until November) it’s not really fall. I love all of the colors that nature has to offer me, especially when I am walking in the mornings. It is a great way to start me day. I can look around and just be inspired by all of the colors.
The cooler weather also means getting outside a little bit more. In August here in Georgia it can get too hot be outside for long periods of time. However, in October I can spend all day out there. That is what I love about Georgia, we get all four seasons. Although where I am in West Central Georgia we could do with a few more snow days. You know like one at all.
Decorating
That is the other thing about fall. All of the decorating that goes on. I don’t do much more than a few pumpkins on the porches but I enjoy it. You may have noticed a few changes going on around here. It is just some things I am playing around with. Don’t worry y’all know I like to do big giveaways with any huge changes and I am saving one for next year that will blow your socks off. I just have to decide what day next year I plan on doing. Until then, what do you think of the changes you have seen so far? They are just some tweaks I am doing to some things.
The family has been doing well and I have some posts scheduled about them soon too. I also have some reviews and giveaways coming. I know things have been a bit slow but the holidays are fast approaching and that means plenty of things to share with y’all. October is all about prepping here on the blog for the last two months of the year.

I completely agree with you that it is at least October before we see cooler temperatures in central Mississippi also. And I do not understand why a person can’t put on more clothes when they are cold rather than me sweat. I’m not trying to sound or be selfish but when I am cold I will put on a long sleeve shirt and never say a word.

Fall in my area is just beautiful, the leaves are so pretty lots of red, orange, gold, and browns. We are getting some rain and the fields are all a wonderful shade of green.
Fall here is up and down temperatures. Warm one day cool the next. The trees are loosing their colorful leaves and my burning bush is starting to turn red. I love all the colors of fall.
It doesn’t really cool off where we live until late October and even then it is really only cool at night. I do love when the leaves change and the humidity is gone.
Fall is beautiful here in the Pacific Northwest – there’s lots of colour.

Fall has beautiful colors of red, yellow, green. The temps are in the 60’s and 70’s.
We’ve had a beautiful fall here in Colorado. The trees have been spectacular and the weather very nice. Could get a little snow next week.

The cool weather is here
Our weather is cooling off some… its been getting up to between 77 and 80 daily with a breeze and I’ll take it! Can’t wait to take the kids to get a pumpkin to carve!
A little cooler and that’s about it 🙂
I love the cooler temperatures and the beautiful Fall colors when the leaves are changing. I really enjoy hiking this time of the year.
We have just started fall, but are really warm yet. Leaves are starting to change, but today is 80 and thunderstorms. I think later this coming week we will start to drop temperatures. Normally we are in the 60’s now.
I live in Michigan and it’s beautiful here in the fall! We have a lot of color tours up north and fall festivities!
It is unseasonably warm here in MN and just this week it seems all the trees are dropping their leaves! The colors are amazing!
getting cooler
I’m in Pennsylvania and here it’s just beautiful. So many colors. So many different kinds of weather. It may be hot, cold, wet and sunny all in the same day. The leaves have started falling and it won’t be long now before we see our first snow flakes.
Nighttime is cold now.
It is finally cooling off here (Northern California). Also has gotten very windy!

Fall in my region is a short season – we go from summer to fall to winter in a month!
I live in Northeastern Ontario Canada and it is usually cool and a bit damp. The leaves changed in to amazing colours.
I live in central Kentucky. It is still warm, high 70s to low 80s but no humidity right now, so that is nice! Trees are starting to lose their leaves and there is some color but not like Wisconsin where I grew up.
Fall is a wonderful time of the year here. I live in central Vermont. We have amazing foliage, cooler weather, apple picking, pumpkin patches, hay rides and corn mazes. We have delicious cider mills and scumptous cider donuts.
It has been so warm, actually hot, here in Northwest Florida. Suppose to cool down into the lower 60’s tonight! Yes! If it would stay cool, I would like to go to the pumpkin patch!
