Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! The first week of September was a transitional period as summer subtly faded into early autumn. Just kidding! There isn’t any sign of autumn in the south yet. It’s like it’s still August!
We have been a bit busy here this last week. As the summer break officially ended, the week began with a return to the usual work routine. I like to take the summers to sleep in a little more and relax. However the first week of September has the alarm clock chiming early in the morning again.
Of course Labor Day happened at the beginning of the week so that meant we had a long weekend. I can remember the days when school didn’t start until this week every year. We didn’t do a lot for the holiday. In fact, we took it easy and enjoyed an afternoon at a friend’s barbecue.
Work has resumed with vigor, and the first week of the month often involved catching up on tasks and setting goals for the upcoming weeks. Meetings, deadlines, and new projects kept me occupied. I also spent some time gathering some seasonal recipes, including apple pies, pumpkin spice lattes, and hearty stews. The fall farmers’ markets and other fairs have been planned and I will certainly be enjoying those this month.

Last week, I went to visit my son and his children, the baby was sick and I caught his cold. So, this week I spent my time nursing that cold. Today was actually the first day that I was up and about trying to catch up on the housework that I ‘d let slide

Its been a long week of homeschooling and getting kids to their activities. We are doing a “field trip” tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to that way more than teaching Pre-Algebra. lol

My week was awesome we took the kids out of town for my youngest sons birthday & did all kinds of fun stuff. We went to Pigeon Forge,TN. We rode a chair lift, went to the sky ranch, went swimming, went to wonderworks, went to magi quest, and ate out at cool restaurants. My favorite was the huge mirror maze in the Magi Quest building. The kids had a blast that’s all that matters to me!
