It’s Friday and today is my 48th birthday, and I’ve decided to gift myself the best present—taking the day off! No work, no obligations, just a day dedicated to celebrating life and enjoying the simple pleasures. Whether it’s indulging in my favorite treats, spending time with loved ones, or simply relaxing and reflecting on the year gone by, today is all about embracing joy and gratitude. It’s a day to pause, breathe, and appreciate the journey so far, while also looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead in this new chapter. Cheers to a day of well-deserved rest and celebration!
This week has been a whirlwind, with work planning and article writing taking up most of my time. Balancing deadlines and creative energy has kept me on my toes, and while it’s rewarding to see everything come together, it’s been a challenge to juggle it all. My calendar has been packed with brainstorming sessions, drafting, and editing, leaving little room to catch my breath. But despite the hustle, there’s a certain satisfaction in ticking things off my to-do list and knowing that I’m making progress.
In the midst of all this, I also squeezed in a visit to the doctor for a shot in my knee, which was a necessary but not exactly enjoyable pit stop. Thankfully, it’s done, and I’m hoping it’ll bring some relief in the days ahead. On top of that, I managed to get the grocery shopping done, which felt like a small victory given everything else on my plate. It’s been a busy week, to say the least, but somehow, I’ve managed to keep it all together—though I’m definitely looking forward to some well-deserved downtime soon!
Just a couple of Instagram posts that made me smile a little this week. I thought they would make you smile as well.
Truer words have never been spoken.
I feel like we all need emergency confetti now. How is this not a thing? This kid is a genius. I mean having a bad day? Just throw some confetti around!
Okay this guy just made me laugh. I mean what can I say? The moment I saw hie I just burst into laughter.
I started meal planning to help me in the grocery store a little more. WE shop monthly and well lets be honest sometimes I don’t buy enough of something or I buy too much of something else. So, I thought I would share what our dinner plans are for next week and see what you think.
- Monday: Grilled Lemon Herb Chicken, Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan, Quinoa Pilaf with Vegetables
- Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognese, Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad
- Wednesday: Baked Salmon with a Honey-Mustard Glaze, Steamed Broccoli, Wild Rice
- Thursday: Shrimp Stir-Fry with Mixed Vegetables, Jasmine Rice, Spring Rolls with Sweet Chili Sauce
- Friday: Homemade Pizza Night (variety of toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives), Mixed Green Salad with Italian Dressing
- Saturday: BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Coleslaw, Sweet Potato Fries
- Sunday (Family-Style Dinner): Roast Beef with Gravy, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Homemade Dinner Rolls, Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
This menu offers a nice mix of flavors throughout the week, with a special, hearty meal to enjoy with family on Sunday.
I thought I take the time to share three things that you can do or read for a little self care, a moment of peace and quiet or more.
- Morning Meditation: Start your day with 10 minutes of guided meditation to clear your mind.
- Unplugged Walk: Take a 30-minute walk outside without your phone to enjoy nature and disconnect.
- Evening Bath: End the day with a relaxing bath, using Epsom salts or essential oils for added relaxation.

Not the best week because my air keeps messing up and it takes forever to get anything done and we’ve had some really hot days.

Happy birthday! This week was uneventful except that my husband and I have been debating buying another car. The prices are so high that it’s really hard to pull the trigger and make a purchase.
