It’s Friday and to be honest I am glad this week is over. It hasn’t been bad but there has been a mix of feelings and things. I just need this week to be over so I can try again next week. You ever have those days or weeks where you were so busy but realize that you didn’t actually get anything done?
That was me this week. I worked so hard but I didn’t even make a dent in my very short to do list for the week. I feel like I am out of joint so to speak. Oh well! I will pick myself up and start over again next week.
I would love to say the heat has eased up a bit but of course it has not and will only be getting worse. We have been having storms most afternoons which only seem to make it hotter. I also started watching The Resident on Nextflix last night. I got so mad after a few episodes that I had to turn it off. The chick that kept telling them to get the uninsured lady out of the hospital and making patients get more expensive procedures they didn’t need made me so mad.
Honestly, it was a good show and I will go back and finish it. That chick just irritated me. I saw this post on Instagram where this woman and her husband went to Turkey for their Health Tourism. I’m not sure what all that is but anyway she had like over 30 tests done all in one day.
Everything from a bone density scan to a stress test to her eyes checked. They went over every single thing with her and other than her airline tickets she only paid $810. Now I don’t know if that is true or not but wow! A stress test without insurance at the heart clinic I go to is $6,000. That’s the cash price if you pay it all at once time. Some of the tests she had done you can’t even get done here on the same day because insurance won’t cover them like that unless you are in the hospital or emergency room.
On top of that she had more than 30 tests scheduled all in one day. It can takes months here. In fact, I am out of one of medications and need to see the doctor to get a refill. She doesn’t have an opening until September. That means by the time I see her I will be almost three full months without my medication. I am on the wait-list in case there is a cancellation but this particular doctor only works three days a week and she is the only one in my area. When I go in September I am going to ask if I actually need the medication since I will have gone so long without it.
Don’t worry it is not a heart medication. My cardiologist will squeeze me if needed and my primary care care can and will call in a refill on those medications in a pinch. He cannot call in this medication for whatever reason.
This made me smile this week.
I mean he’s not wrong. I was scrolling and saw this and it just made me laugh.
As a southern gal my accent makes it sound like I mispronounce things a lot. Sometimes I am messing them up but sometimes I wonder about people. I mean maybe he never heard the name pronounced before. Maybe he is just doing it for the clout because lots of people on social media do that. Either way this is funny.
This would have made me laugh so hard if I saw it going down the road. The only thing that would have been would be if their window was down so I could yell out “We’ve Got Cows!” to them. Come on, y’all know this is pretty funny.

I so know what you mean by having a week when you are so busy but it seems like you get nothing done. I did a of running around and trying to keep the house taken care of this week. It has been so hot here and I go out early every morning and water. My hanging flowers are still hanging in there.

I totally understand about a completely overwhelming week – I felt like I was barely keeping my head above the water this week! Im off on holidays now, so Im hoping it will slow down enough for me to feel like I am in control

It was stressful and busy, but I’m happy to get away this weekend!

My eldest son is on my mind this week because he’s been struggling financially. I can’t bail him out and he needs to take charge of his own life. I’ve had a bunch of expenses lately with our septic tank and our AC breaking down.

I had to cover phones for work which was a bit stressful. But I made a peanut butter pie to make up for the stress. Crazy work week – so glad it’s the weekend!

This week was low key. We are near Homer, AK for my hubby to go on a few tours. I might have gone with him, but I can’t leave my mom in the RV alone for that long. The dogs alone would be hard for her to take out. No biggie, but he has had a GREAT time! He rode on a plane to see bears. And he saw a lot with great photos and videos. Today he is fishing. He does so much for us that I’m glad he has a few days (alone…my mom can be a lot with her dementia and repetition of statements or questions) to do what he wants.

This week the temperatures have been so high. My poor little AC can’t keep up. So it’s been miserable.
