I don’t know if you all know but the big summer futbol matches are currently underway. In my home that is a really big deal, I am talking take days off work kind of big deal. I admit that I had no idea about futbol (soccer to my American readers) until I got married. Then I had to learn quickly all the rules, the teams, and everything else. I still get a bit confused but that’s okay. Futbol is a huge part of my children’s culture and I do everything I can to embrace it and enjoy as much as they do.
Of course we are rooting for Edgar’s home country (and I am secretly rooting for my home country–don’t tell anyone here though.) Hey a chica has to do what a chica has to do. We have futbol watching parties where we all get together and watch the game(s) for the day and I try to explain it to my American relatives who are a bit lost. I must say that this sport has actually brought my family together in more ways than I ever thought could be possible. If only to argue over whose team is going to win.
This year in the spirit of bringing families together, Pampers has launched the “Mi Equipo, Mi Herencia” Virtual Stadium app and sweepstakes on their Facebook page. It is actually pretty great. The image above is Miss Mags (in the middle) in her favorite team (Mexico) gear and ready to cheer them on! From now until July 15th you can visit Pampers Latino Facebook Page and upload a picture of your baby into the Pampers virtual stadium. You will generate a shareable meme (like mine) and also you can enter to win a year supply of Pampers.
