Gallo en Fuego (Rooster on Fire in Spanish) is more than just  products. First all of the products are designed by Lori Holliday who just happens to be the same designer of 2 Red Hens Studio items (you may remember the great diaper bag not too long ago.) Lori was inspired by her husband, Mark, a firefighter for fifteen years.

Gallo en Fuego is Lori’s way of honoring him and his fellow heroes, who put their own lives on the line every single day.  Most of the materials used are from retired firehoses from New York City. They carry the distinctive marks of being out in the field.  The hoses are cleaned (still keeping the character of the hose intact) and then the hose becomes the raw materials used to make the wallets and other products.

Gallo en Fuego Firefighters

Gallo en Fuego has partnered with the National Fallen Firefighters Association to help remember America’s fallen fire heroes and to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives. A portion of every sale is donated to help families of firefighters. Also ladies, every man you see on the Gallo en Fuego site is an active duty firefighter or paramedic.

I received the American Flag Men’s Tee to review and as you can see my uncle is loving it! I thought it would be perfect for hubby but when it came in my uncle loved it so much I gave it to him. This shirt is amazing! It is 100% cotton but we have washed it a few times and it has not shrunk. I should tell you though that I wash in cold water and I line dry so there may be shrinkage washed any other way.
