Growing up in a military family I spent a lot of time in and around the bases. Some of my fondest memories are going with my grandmother out to the commissary grocery shopping when I would visit during the summer. It was always a different place than the other grocery store we went to in town. The prices were lower and there was always someone there to help take out your groceries. Now that I am an adult, I shop at the same commissary that my grandmother shopped at. The experience is still very different from going to a regular grocery store.
To be honest I can save more money when at go out to Ft. Benning and do my shopping at the commissary. So I make monthly trips and plan my meals around all of the wonderful deals. There is still someone always there to take my groceries out and I can actually get a lot done in one little trip. General Mills has a program just for military families only called Military Region Coupons and Offers. I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
