I have a hard time getting the kids to exercise! They love to go outside and play but if you talk about any sort of exercise they turn up their noses. So what in the world is a parent to do? I actually make sure they know that I exercise as much as I can so they understand the importance of it. I also do my best to make exercising fun for them.
To do that we go outside and play games, talk walks together. Recently we received the ibitz™ from Best Buy and have discovered all sorts of new fun. The ibitz™ Kid and Adult Wireless Pedometers by GeoPalz® will track your steps, distance, weight (manually added), height, overall physical activity, and BMI. Great, right? It is even water resistant, you can clip to your hip or shoe and can store up to 30 days of activities. Your kids can earn coins and content on Disney’s Club Penguin. My kids are loving this!
With the ibitz™ you have the capability of adding family and friends which means you can form groups and post your progress on social media. I know that is something many of you will enjoy. Now for your kids, the ibitz™ Kid wireless pedometer can sync a rewards platform app which will help motivate them to exercise. As a parent you can set goals and choose rewards like play time, TV or video time, or even a fun day with the family. My kids rolled their eyes at this but when I said Six Flags they pepped right up. The ibitz™ is available at BestBuy.com and in stores in 7 colors and sells for $24 for kids and $50 for adults.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This is a great idea to get kids moving again. I know kids will always be plugged-in to a point but during the nice weather, kids need to be active and not sitting around plugging into the newest technology.

This sounds pretty cool! I really like the fact that it might even get the kids excited about exercising. Plus I love that you can add people to your group. What a great way to make it a family program. Since it’s also about technology I am sure the kids would like it.

It is hard to get children to go outside and play, we I was growing up I was always outside playing, baseball, playing tag, playing hide and seek or riding our bikes, we had so much fun when I was growing up, children now a days are missing out on so much, they are plugged into video games or the television, we need to get them outside and play and this device sounds cool!

My girls are pretty active but I love the idea of getting gets to be aware of how much they are moving around. I know a pedometer helps me to make sure I get up from my desk several times a day. I bet kids respond well to setting a goal of a certain number of steps.

What a great idea I know they have excercise tracker for adults but I didn’t know there were any geared towards kids. My son has now problem moving around, LOL, he never stops.
