There is no doubt that the last year and lockdowns have taken their toll. Life now feels predictable and has become stagnant. As human beings we are resilient, despite what we have thrown at us, we just keep going. The best remedy for feeling stuck is to take action and do something about it.

So, that being said, let’s have a look at some of the action you can take to get yourself out of that lockdown rut:
Have A Purpose
Whether you want to get back in touch with a friend using a public records search engine, start eating better, get more active outdoors, you name it, having a purpose drives you to get up each and every day.
For many people, the lockdown has made them lose their sense of purpose. Wipe the slate clean and take this time as the time to start afresh. Of course, there are still some restrictions that need to be followed, but it looks as though things are improving for the positive. Take each and every day as it comes and choose a purpose on a daily basis, even if it’s only small.
Recognize Your Emotions
If you are in a rut, you need to remind yourself that it is absolutely fine to feel demotivated, down, or stuck. It may seem like others have flourished out of lockdowns and that you are behind, however you need to remember that these people may also be using a coping mechanism to distract them from feeling this way too. If you can have a close look at your emotions, can you recognize them and put a plan into place to tackle them? Do you have someone you can share your emotions with? With a good level of awareness and support, you may be able to put action into place to boost your mood.
Keep It Positive
Without reducing the seriousness of the pandemic, you could say that there have been some hidden positives to this time. Working from home has certainly presented up with a wider sense of flexibility and the opportunity to have healthier habits such as saving more money by eating at home, or going for a walk on your lunch break.
Many people have found new ideas, started businesses and used the time to educate themselves. Despite the fact that this time has been challenging, can you think of anything that has to be positive from this time?
Become Your Own Coach
Lockdown has certainly given us plenty of time, no daily commute, no social events, and no traveling which means more time to reflect. It can be very easy to find yourself in a rut during a time like this. If you want to get unstuck, you need to become your own coach and find your way out of problems. Grab yourself a pen and paper and take some time to recognize and tackle the things that are keeping you in the rut your need to get out of.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
