Whether you are new to getting a car or have had one for years, one thing quickly becomes apparent to a car owner – owning a car is expensive. Between paying for your car note, getting proper insurance, regularly filling your car with expensive gas, and keeping your car well maintained, it can often feel like there is very little wiggle room in your budget when you have a car. But shopping in the right places can help you decrease your car expenses.
Just like you did with other areas of car ownership, shopping around for car parts will help you minimize your expenses. When you were looking for a car, you probably didn’t go straight for the first car on the lot, or even to the first dealership in sight for that matter. You most likely took some time to identify the dealership that seemed most trustworthy, and once there, looked through each of the cars until you found the right vehicle for you. Similarly, to when you bought your car, you likely did your research on insurance companies, at least insofar as you wanted to make sure you were getting the best deal. It’s the same with filling your car with gas – if you are going to pay money for every moment you are in your car, why not at least try to reduce that figure by finding the cheaper gas station in your neighborhood?
Shopping around for car parts necessary for maintenance is much like anything else in life. You can either get the expensive, overpriced items, or you can find the reasonably priced ones. You can go to a store where the employees treat you poorly, or treat you well. If you want a fair price on the parts you need, and want to interact with employees who are not only knowledgeable but look out for your best interests, stop into Advance Auto Parts. Advance is well-known for having friendly, knowledgeable employees who are happy to offer you genuinely helpful advice, rather than mislead you into purchasing items you do not need. You will find that your little bit of research in reading this article will end up saving you money over the long run, just like the little bit of research you did in buying your car, signing up for insurance, and finding the best gas station around town.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This is something everyone should do, especially women. Too often, women are still viewed as clueless about cars & get cheated on repairs, etc. You don’t have to be able to fix it yourself, lol, but getting just a little knowledge about what’s under the hood can make it clear to mechanics & salesmen that you’re not going to be easily ripped off.

I have shopped at Advanced and they are quite knowledgable. If one peron doesnt know they will find an employee to help. I will also mention another thing, if you dont know how to do it, look on youtube. I will guarantee, there is a video out there that will show you how to do about anything.

I shop around a lot, especially when it comes to anything that might get expensive — like auto parts! We do have an Advance Auto Parts here, and I know my dad has always trusted them.
