As a homeschool parent (and aunt) I am always on the lookout for products that not help my children learn but helps me teach them. One such products is the Educents Preschool Rock Bundle which has 19 downloadable products! I had the pleasure of receiving one of the downloads, Getting Your Child Ready for Kindergarten, and I am so impressed. While we haven’t had the chance to really get into it. I have been going through it and can’t wait to begin.
One thing that I really found useful in the last couple of days has been the Shape Recognition . I printed these and while I plan on laminating them so they last longer they work just as well on regular paper. I was able to give them to the kids and they could sit on the floor at the funeral home and quietly play without making a lot of noise. They just matched the shape with the name however there is so much that you can do with this particular game. I am planning on running off a couple of copies and then gluing the word to the shape, laminating them and putting on a big key ring. That way when the twins get ready to start learning shapes we will have some great flash cards. It will also work with the nephews who are just getting started.
Of course this is just one of many great games that are available. They focus on numbers, letters, and shapes. I also love that the Getting Your Child Ready for Kindergarten download tells you the things that your child needs to master for Kindergarten which is very useful for first time homeschool teachers or just parents who children are heading to kindergarten.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I like bundled products so you can save money and the lessons or concepts fit together better. I had not heard of this but I love seeing and reading about kids educational products. Thanks for the feature.

I really love them learning at that age! Every little new discovery is so exciting for them, it really helps me stay grounded as to what is really important.

Some of the most intelligent and socially adept people I know were homeschooled. This is something that my wife and I have considered for our kids. It must be nice to have some products like this, which can be used as references. Diversity of learning is very important!

Homeschooling or not, I think all parents need resources like this! I would like to find a good program to help my daughter with phonics. They don’t teach that much in school anymore (which is really dumb) and my girl needs to practice at home.

This sounds like a great homeschool resource. Even though I don’t homeschool I could see using this to enhance what my son does at his preschool.

Sounds great! I really like your idea of laminating and putting them on a key ring! I bought a laminator last year just for the purpose of making flash cards for the kids.

This sounds like a great bundle. When my daughter was in kindergarten I was shocked at how many of the kids could read at the beginning of the year. I mean read really well. I used to do these kinds of things for my kids when they were younger, especially over the summer. I didn’t want them to forget everything they had learned during the year. I would laminate these for sure.
