The eternal battle of confidence and anxiety keeps raging on in the background of our minds. Some days we feel great, elated and confident when walking down the street, going to the shops or off to work. And other days we feel like we just want to crawl into a corner and stay there for the rest of the day. Whether it’s the general stresses of life, the relationships you have with your family, friends and or partner that are weighing you down or something else, it becomes a chore to remain happy. If only we could have an on and off switch in our brain that could help us with this battle but unfortunately there’s no such thing. Practical real-world things can help us when we don’t feel confident. The way we dress for example is able to give us some ability to shrug off the monkey on our shoulder. When we are given something meaningful in the way of gift, this too can help us to come out of our shell when it’s thoughtful but also useful to our lives.
Take it with you
Gifts that are portable are often the most useful. Things that you can fit in your bag and take with you to work, on a trip or on holiday will prove to be the most thoughtful too. You can use them everywhere you go and you’ll develop a liking for what they achieve. For example, a portable espresso machine that can make you a fresh cup of coffee on the go is brilliant. It uses ground up coffee beans which are cheap to buy. You can also buy coffee beans and grind them up yourself by just putting them into a blender. Leave the ground up coffee in the machine, and all you need is hot water. Use the pump on the machine to mix the water and the espresso as it goes through the chambers and filters to come out eventually a fresh espresso. Anyone who just needs a pick-me-up to boost their attention span at work or when they’re on the road this is very helpful.
Styling an appearance
Looking good often makes you feel good. Making a great first impression will mean you making a lasting impression. So dressing well is obviously something you would want to do in a situation where you are feeling a lack of confidence in yourself. For men, sometimes looking sharp is locked in the tie. It’s the centerpiece of your suit, so something like Italian ties would be fitting to take this place. Made out of silk, they’re light around the neck and they are easy to fold and make knots with. An item that would be strong yet not boastful, is the navy light blue dotted tie. It’s the standard width but the dots makes it slightly less formal. This is great for someone who wants to look smart in an office or on a date. What we wear does matter and affects our confidence, so gifting this to a man in your life whether he be a friend, family member or otherwise is quite thoughtful.
There are lots of ways to help someone feel more confident. Talking with them about their flaws and helping them to understand that they have a lot going for them does help. But giving them a gift to help them in everyday life, is just as useful.
