A lot of people think that being green and helping the planet is a chore or will require massive life changes. It doesn’t and by making a few small alterations to the way you live, you can help in big ways. Here’s an example, stop using hairspray. It’s as simple as that. You might think that hairspray is the only way to get that fantastic hold. While this is debatable it’s impossible to argue against the fact that hairspray contains harmful chemicals that damage the environment and the air we breathe. Here are a few other simple tips.
Change Your Bulbs
You probably have lights all over your home that use halogen bulbs. Instead, you should be switching to LEDs. These bulbs use less power and therefore are far more eco-friendly. That’s great news because not only will it save you money, it will help the planet. The bulbs even last for thousands of hours longer than your typical halogen light.
Take A Walk
Or how about just going for a walk every now and then? If it’s a small enough distance, rather than driving, walk to the shop instead. This will ensure that you get some exercise and use less fuel that pollutes the planet. It’s another massive win-win!
Recycle Where You Can
There are plenty of things that can now be recycled, some of which you are probably completely unaware of. For instance, we bet you didn’t realize that you could recycle tech but you can. In fact, many tech companies like Apple now offer this opportunity to customers for old devices. If you want more info about recycling tech like old mobile phones, check out the infographic below.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

These are such great tips. I never know what to do with batteries so I save the old ones until I find a retailer who has the recycling envelopes of collection box. We have an e-waste recycling program in our community where every couple of months a location is designated and you can take it to be recycled and properly disposed of. It looks like the effect of electronic trash is worse than I realized!
