How many of you baked with your grandmother? I did with my granny almost every summer from the moment I was old enough to be in the kitchen. My children will never bake with my grandmother. My mom bakes but not often anymore. That is why I was so thrilled aboutGramma in a Box. It is a monthly subscription box that will bring you so much joy. Even if you don’t have grandchildren!
Gramma in a Box began when the founder’s grandchildren moved. She began sending them boxes of cookies and such that they could decorate together via Skye. Gramma in a Box was born and the rest as they say is history.
As you can see when you open the box it is packed full of items. I will say that the melting chocolate just called to me. Not to make anything of it either. When I was growing up my granny always had some of that in the fridge. She kept in a container for when her blood sugar would drop. A couple of pieces and she would be good to go. We were always sneaking pieces to eat.
There are also recipe cards inside. They tell you how to assemble things. What items are used for what project. Of course you could go completely rouge (we did a little) and do your own thing.
The first thing in the April box we put together were flower lollipops. These were fun and easy but a little note about melting the chocolate- work fast. This stuff will start to harden really quickly.
I think on the last flower we had to remelt the chocolate a couple of times. It was easy but I did add a little milk to help make it smooth again. Just a little splash.
The cookies were the biggest project and the one where we went rouge. We just did whatever felt right to us. It made things much more fun. My uncle kept making remarks about his was the best.
I loved how the whole family participated. Each of the kids got to do a cookie. We had the best time laughing and enjoying each others company.
The bird’s nests were super easy but not my favorite. I don’t like the little noodle things that we used. That is simply a personal preference. The kids thoughts these were the best things ever.
Subscription Options
There are several options to choose from and you can subscribe with an auto debit program for only $20 per month…and the first box is only $10. I think that is one of the things I love about it.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This is such a neat concept. I love the idea of having a box the kids can enjoy and if I ever have grandchildren this would be awesome. As it is I am thinking about getting one for not only the kids but for my younger nieces and nephews. That way we can Skype and put together cookies!

What is your fondest memory of baking with someone? Let us know in the comments below.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This looks like a really cute box! My fondest memory of baking with Someone is when i would make Christmas cookies with my children when the were younger. They each had their own unique way of decorating the cookies and we had a LOt of fun!

My granddaughters love to bake with me. This sounds like a box we would be interested in trying out.
