We recently highlighted some ways to relieve stress outdoors, but if you’re stuck indoors, then there are plenty of ways that you can let off steam too. The great thing about most of these indoor stress-relieving techniques like meditation and online games is that they don’t require much space to help relieve the pressures of the modern age.
The fine art of slowing down
One of the hardest things to do when we’re stressed is to simply slow down and take stock of the situation. Our breathing is one of the key areas to get under control, and there are plenty of breathing exercises that can be simply carried out in just five minutes to help you forget the worries of the day.
Mindfulness has become a buzzword in recent years for its ability to help relieve stress by guiding your attention to focus on what’s going on in the present moment. Focusing on simple tasks such as crafts and hobbies or even a mindfulness colouring book can do a world of good and can be surprisingly fun too!
Smartphone stress relief
There’s also been plenty of innovation from the tech world in helping us find some indoor stress relief. Music has long been documented as being a powerful stress-relieving tool, and streaming sites such as Spotify are packed full of great user-created anti-stress playlists.
Video games have also been found to help people combat the ills of the modern world. And although playing shoot-em-ups may not initially sound calming, there’s plenty of more relaxed games out there that you may not have seen before such as Lucky Nugget Casino’s range of online pokies games that are simple to understand, and can even be played via a smartphone from the comfort of your sofa!
Home exercise tips
We all know that a bit of exercise can go a long way in helping us let off steam. And even if you’re stuck indoors, then some of these recommended workout YouTube tutorials can help keep you limber and calm the nerves without having to leave the living room.
Everybody knows the power that a good bath has to help lower stress levels. Something about floating in water has scientifically-proven stress beating effects, and with the ability to play online pokies on your smartphone whilst being mindful, there are certainly many pleasant ways you can combat stress from the comfort of your home!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
