By now I am sure that you have seen the movie The Passion of the Christ. During the filming of the movie the book A Guide to the Passion: 100 Questions about the Passion of the Christ was written. This book answers questions that many people have about the movie itself. It is from a Catholic’s perspective (as is the movie for the most part since Mel Gibson is Catholic) but I think that while explaining the movie Tim Allen explains a lot about Catholicism as well.
For example it answers the question why Jesus is shown carrying the whole cross in the movie. I will not tell you what the answer is but I will tell you this: He did not carry the whole cross, all he actually would of carried would have been the crossbeam. Roman tradition is that they only carried the crossbeam. Most likely (and I am just guessing here) because no one would of actually been able to carry all of it by themselves.
In Part 2 The Case for Christ is discussed where 5 common things said about Jesus are examined. It is good and interesting. Part 3 discusses what happened after the death of Jesus and Part 4 talks about where you are going in your faith and life. I have to tell you that I truly enjoyed this book. There were questions answered that I didn’t know the answers to and it was a fairly quick read. It now sits on my desk so I can go back through it from time to time because I have found that many times you discovered new things the second or third time you read a book.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I did see the movie when it first came out. I actually thought it did a pretty good job of telling the story without to much embellishment. This book sounds like it would be really helpful in trying to explain parts, especially to younger kids.
