It’s the 4th of July and I don’t know about all of you but we will be spending with family and friends. We already have plans in the works and currently I am most likely prepping things for this afternoon. One of the things I love about spending the 4th at my brothers is that there is little for me to do. We typically go just up the road to a friends, eat food, and swim. That is it!
Now you would think that I would have to bring a dish. However I don’t! Steve, who is my brother’s friend does all the grilling and if we bring anything at all it is drinks for ourselves and some chips. We do take a little snack for the kiddos so no one gets super hungry. I’m not going to even bother taking a book today because I want to do is get the pool and cool off.
Last year was a bit rough though because a storm came up in the middle of the party. It poured and all we had were our swimsuits and towels to cover up with. The rain was cold and everything went flying around in the middle of the storm. It was both funny and awful at the same time. In the end we had plenty of fun and enjoyed ourselves. That is what was important.
I love the days when we go swimming because I take the best nap ever when I get back to the house. I always have slept well after being out at the pool. We get back, take a quick shower and then pile up on the couch and I am out within minutes. I hope that each and every one of you are having the best possible 4th!

I hope you had a wonderful 4th. We just relaxed at home and watched the fireworks from our front porch.

There was a pretty bad thunderstorm that came on the 4th but luckily the fireworks still happened.
