I love caramel! I think I get that from my daddy because I can remember when I was growing up he always had a bag of caramels in the house. They were his and we weren’t suppose to eat them yet we always did. There was just something about that gooey goodness. Happy Goat Caramel is just the company to take me back to my childhood while showing me there is more to caramels than what I thought.
From Happy Goat Caramel Website:
We at Happy Goat are obsessed with making the best caramel in the world. Happy Goat uses only the finest ingredients to craft its artisanal caramels. Quality, Craftsmanship, and Responsibility are the watch words of this small friend-owned business. Founded by Michael Winnike in the Mission district of San Francisco, Happy Goat has grown a following of “foodies who care”.
Happy Goat Caramel uses 100% all-natural grade “A” quality goat milk that s Kosher certified. The milk comes from free-range goats that are raised on small California farms where chemicals are used. Happy Goat also makes their products in small batches to ensure quality.
We received three different flavors of their caramels; Vanilla, Chocolate with Seat Salt, and Winter Spice. I must say that Vanilla, of course, was my favorite but that the Chocolate with Sea Salt was not bad at all. There was a little salty flavor mixed in with all the sweetness that I really enjoyed. The Winter Spice really surprised me. There was a warmth to it that made me feel all nice and toasty on the inside. The best part about all of the caramels was that they didn’t stick to your teeth. You know what I am talking about, sometimes caramel is so hard that it sticks to your teeth (think Sugar Daddy.) This was very smooth and chewable which I am sure my dentist will love as well.
We also received their two sauces; Vanilla Caramel and Scotch Caramel. I have never in my life had a caramel sauce that had scotch in it. This one is made with 12-year-old single malt scotch and I must tell you that it blew me off my feet. I have never tasted anything so rich, creamy, and smooth in all my life. It was simply divine. I didn’t let the kids try this one (although you can’t taste any alcohol) but I did give them the Vanilla one and I will tell you that the jar lasted all of one day. I think they were eating it straight from the jar with a spoon.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
