We love playing games and usually try to have a game night at least once a month. I get that from my daddy who when I was growing up played games with us at least once a week. In fact if he thought we weren’t spending enough quality time together as a family he would disconnect the cable and we had to nothing to do but play games. Hasbro games have been in my home all of my life and I love they make games geared toward younger children.
When my siblings are here we love playing Monopoly but the kids always want to play and a long game becomes an even longer game. Not anymore though because now they can play Monopoly Jr. which will teach them the basics of regular Monopoly but on their level and in a way they can understand. This games is for ages 5 and up and comes with a Gameboard, 4 tokens, 20 chance cards, 48 sold signs, 90 banknotes, 4 character cards, and 1 die. Now it does only use $1 bills for transactions but that is to make it easier.
Elefun and Friends Mouse Trap is another fun game that the kids can enjoy. Although I must admit Tio loves this game as well and getting him to let share and let the kids play is a lesson all by itself. It’s funny how a simple game can make an adult feel like a child again. This is for ages 4 and up and comes with all of the following: 3 mouse figures (Sneakers Mouse, Nacho Mouse, Pepper Mouse), 1 Hungry Hippo figure, 3 game board pieces, cardboard spinner, cheese wedge spinner and base, cheese wedge slide, boot, branch, seesaw log, Elefun plastic branch holder, Jock Croc plastic slide component, Giraffalaff marble stopper component, Chasin’ Cheeky trap holder, tub, ladder, tree trunk, banana branch, tree leaves, trap, and 2 marbles.
Disney Princess Pop-Up Magic Castle is one that I admit I really like. Who doesn’t like the princesses and Victoria really enjoys playing. Aurora, Snow White, Belle or Ariel and it can connect to other pop up games (sold separately) to make your path even longer. It is for ages 3 and up and comes with a gameboard, a pop up castle, 4 Disney Princess characters (the ones mentioned above), spinner, 12 friend tokens, gameboard connector and instructions. I think I am actually going to buy a couple of other pop up games to connect to this.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I love family game night. We usually have my sister and her family over and make a big night out of it. We have games for the younger kids but I have never seen the Elefun and Friends Mouse Trap. That looks like a game the kids would love. I will have to check it out. Thanks!

Those are some fun looking games. When I was growing up we played a lot of games.

It’s funny I think a lot of us played games growing up but mostly our kids play them on the iPad and computer.

We love playing games also, it seems that we only play games during holidays or during vacations, I need to change that because we do have so much fun.

We do it a lot during the holidays as well that is why I try so hard to make sure we do it at least once a month together.

My family played games a lot too. I remember Life and Mousetrap most fondly. My girls are still not quite old enough to be super interested, although we do have Elefun (with the butterflies that fly out of the trunk) and they do like that. I will really enjoy it when they are ready for board games.

I didn’t know there was a Monopoly Jr. game. My son will be 5 later this year, this would make a great birthday gift.
