Well have you? Ma and I watched it the other day and I must say that I was impressed and entertained. I had read several reviews and they were all pretty mixed. Some people loved it and others hated it so we thought we would check it out for ourselves.
About
While searching for her missing mother, intrepid teen Enola Holmes uses her sleuthing skills to outsmart big brother Sherlock and help a runaway lord.
I love that they gave Sherlock a sister! Millie Bobby Brown who plays Enola is magnificent. She is smart and funny and I must say gave Sherlock a run for his money. Their brother Mycroft is less than likeable but is certainly a well placed antagonist for Enola. Fiona Shaw is the perfect Head Mistress but we have seen her in that role in the past.
I do love the motor car she drives though! Henry Cavill as Sherlock and Helena Bonham Carter as their mother are both wonderful in their respective roles. Honestly, all in all this was a wonderful show and I hope they have plans to do others in the future. We found ourselves laughing and was surprised by who the villain turned out to be.
There is more than enough action and the show is rather fast-paced. They do inject the mother in flashbacks which is where we see how intelligent Enola is. It is through these flashbacks that she gathers clues and we get to see her training.
This is a movie that I will certainly be enjoying again with the whole family. I wasn’t certain the kids could watch it at first which is why Ma and I watched it together. She sat through the whole movie which is saying something. Normally she falls asleep twenty minutes in and doesn’t wake back up until the movie is over and another has started. I get let with “Why did you change the movie?”
HAVE YOU IT OR ARE YOU PLANNING TO? SHARE YOU THOUGHTS WITH US PLEASE.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
