Help Diabetes with Healthy Essentials

Nov 20, 2014 | Rita

Healthy Essentials to Help with Diabetes!

Disclosure: This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.

November is Diabetes Awareness month and this is a disease that I am very familiar with. My father had diabetes, so did my Grandmother, my sister has it and I do as well. In fact it is a fairly common disease. One of the things that you learn when you have diabetes is that it affects every single aspect of your life. You can be going along just fine and then your sugar bottom out and you are flat on your back. Maintenance and prevention is the key when you have diabetes. In fact the items in this box above can actually help a person with diabetes.

Healthy Essentials

There are several great items in the box including a coupon book for Rite Aid and if you like coupons check out these from  Healthy Essentials for many of the items in the box. If you have diabetes then taking care of yourself is very important. Diabetics heal much slower than a normal person so without the proper care a simple cut can be life threatening.  That is why there are always the following two items with me at all times:

NEOSPORIN®  which of course, is the original ointment for over 55 years and provides 24 hour infection protection. Not to mention it may help to minimize the appearance of scars. This product is for all your minor cuts, scrapes and burns. Having this on hand (even in my purse) actually helped my aunt when she cut her leg on the car door. We were able to get her cleaned up quickly so she was able to heal more effectively.

BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages is America’s #1 bandage and another product I always have with me@ You can cover all your wound-protection needs. For over 90 years BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages have covered and protected minor cuts and scrapes for millions of people.

I admit that I always have lotion or cream with me. My skin gets dried out very easily and  LUBRIDERM® helps me stay moisturized.  It provides daily moisture , fragrance-free, fortified with Vitamin B5 and skin-essential moisturizers. We love it and I use it on everyone in the family! Be sure that you check with your doctor before using.

My MIL has diabetes. She is very good at caring for it, but those of us who do not have the disease forget how much is involved–even when we are trying to help. Thank you for the reminder.

Almost everyone on my mom’s side has diabetes. My last check said i was pre pre-diabetic. That was awhile ago. I should get tested again soon but I think I already know what the answer is.

I didn’t know you have Diabetes. Oh my goodness it’s even more important that you take care of yourself! You have a tendency to put everyone else ahead of yourself. You need to keep an eye on your health first. Diabetes runs in my family also. So I know how much of an impact it has on your day to day life. Thanks for the great info!.
