Hickory Farms and Traditions

Dec 15, 2013 | Rita

Disclosure:

Party Planner

I told you before about the wonderful tradition we had when I was growing up buying a Hickory Farms item for my father every year. I was so pleased to get the basket I did to review and as I said it was great. That got me thinking and I started about all the traditions we have during the holidays. Because we are a multicultural family we have a lot of traditions that relate to our cultures.

However there is one thing that I make a point of doing with the kids every holiday season. That is taking the time to give back. Every time we see a bell-ringer with their buckets I give the kids money to drop in them. Even if it is only a quarter it is something. We also participate in toy and clothing drives in our areas.

Traditions

That to me is what the spirit of Christmas is all about and any company that helps embrace that has me as a life long customer. Hickory Farms is one such company and I love all that they do. They have a partnership with Share Our Strength (SOS) – a leading national nonprofit organization that works to stamp out childhood hunger. For each Party Planner (shown in top photo) gift box sold this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.

How you could not get behind that and if you are a numbers person then you will be thrilled to know that to date Hickory Farms and its customers have donated $1.9 million. Hickory Farms has gone even further for those military families and has eight products that have free shipping to military APO and FPO addresses, including the “Home for the Holidays” gift basket and “Beef Hearty Hickory” basket.

All of that and more is why I am pleased that Hickory Farms is a part of our tradition. They have such a variety of holiday food gifts that are just right for any budget and for anyone on your gift list this year. For more than 60 years Hickory Farms has been providing holiday shoppers with options and with their new artisanal products, Hickory Farms Reserve, I am sure you will find something you love.

Purchase Hickory Farms

You can purchase Hickory Farms in one of their 700+ Holiday Market stores and kiosks across North America, as well as in select retailers. You can also purchase at Hickoryfarms.com.

There are a lot of companies that gift these as holiday gifts to their employees. It is such a nice gift to get and receive. What a nice platter selection to have to take to a get together or just to nibble on here or there. I know they have selections that also include nuts, wine and fruit…some of my favorites! We were told to get a cheese and wine one for my daughter’s bf. They sell at Walmart too I think!

I remember when Hickory Frams used to come to our mall every year. I loved going in there and tasting the cheese and the meats. The people who ran it where always so nice. We love their products.

I love going there and being able to sample before you buy. Takes the worry out of it if you are giving as a gift.

I love Hickory Farms I can remember when they had stores in the mall. I would go with my parents to the mall and love to get the free samples they used to give out.

We love Hickory Farms. I really think it’s great that they have donated so much to help end childhood hunger. It is one more reason to buy them each year.
