I had a bit of a hard time getting into this story at first. I am not sure why but I think it had more to do with the fact that it didn’t auto enlarge on my Nook. That is one of the things that happens sometimes when you receive ARCs and the day that I started this book I had a headache. However once I began reading Highland Guard I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My Thoughts

This was actually a great story! I love that they already had history and spent so much time fighting it all but there is one point where Harcourt just simply gives up fighting it and gives him. He knows what he wants and what he willing to do to get it. Annys has spent five years feeling guilty for doing what her husband asked and sleeping with Harcourt. Harcourt in turn has spent five years feeling guilty over the fact that he slept with a married woman and walking away from her and his child. They have both spent all that time longing for one another and now they are thrown back together in a fight for not only their son’s life but also their hearts. I would highly recommend Highland Guard to anyone wanting a great historical romance story!

  1. Historical romance is about the only romance book I will read. This doesnt sound too bad, and I do like the cover quite a bit 🙂 I hope this was based somewhat on fact as far the the historical aspect that I like best.
    I would likely read this book.

  2. Wow – his eyes are completely mesmerizing. I actually scrolled up again to look at them. Sometimes I read the book just because of the cover picture – this would be one of those.
