The History Hero Educational App is designed to be used in certain museums and has a great science fiction story line to keep the kids entertained. “Erasers” are attacking Earth, intent on rubbing out our history by destroying various artifacts. The only way to stop them is to snap digital photos of the relics and upload them to a collective database. While the app is free to download, but you’ll need to do an in-app purchase for the missions you choose to do. We tested the app with the Museum of Natural History mission. It was very simple to do, first you choose a mission and level of difficulty that is based on your child’s age, then you have to agree to the rules which are things like don’t touch anything you are not suppose to, etc. It was a great way to explore the museum and learn new things. For example one of the missions was to find the T-Rex and then we answered questions like how many teeth did he have. We also snapped pictures, etc.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I like any apps that are about learning. I would love to try this out with my son, I will probably have to wait until he gets older though but I would like to try it out myself. I didn’t like history much when I was younger but I’ve grown to be more interested in it when I went on a trip to DC with my daughter.

I like that this ties a “video game” to actually learning. So many of the games these days are just for fun and no learning takes place. I think both of my kids would like this.
