Every once in a while, everything piles up, and you need to take a moment. Then from time to time, you need more than a moment. You need something more significant – you need a reset.
The thing is, when life is so busy, you don’t always have the space to go away for weeks or months – instead, it needs to be little things that help you to feel like you have a bit of a fresh start.
Stillness
There is a big difference between sitting still and watching the TV for a few hours and being still for a while somewhere. Heading to a peaceful place that is natural and lying down or even sitting in silence for a time can do wonders.
Many people are tempted to leave when the boredom kicks in, but if you can get beyond it, you will realize that it was because you felt the need to be busy again.
Psychedelic reset
There are studies now being done that look at the impact that magic mushrooms have on the brain. They act as almost a reset button. Studies are being done on people who have depression, and little else works for them.
The mushrooms offer a kick-start effect, and following the treatment, brain scans show that the blood flow to the brain changes, and according to the scientists running the tests, it gives a feeling of being rebooted.
Dump it
When your mind is spinning because it is so full, it can feel overloaded and overwhelming. Lighten the load dramatically by writing down everything that is going on. Quite literally, dump it all on some paper – or even type it on your computer.
There is no organization required, and you don’t need to do anything with the notes if you don’t want to. Make a brain dump part of your every day so that you stop getting overloaded.
Power Foods
When life gets very demanding and hectic, it is often the case that cooking healthy and nutritious meals go out the door. Filling up on food to see you through is fine, but taking another look at your diet might highlight while you are feeling less than okay right now.
Turn to nature and eat leafy greens, plenty of fruits and, drink green tea for a while, and let your body start to rebalance itself.
You might find that you need to throw in a supplement or two to help you. Eating less food packed with stuff we know isn’t great for us and making some smart swaps can support us better.
Don’t make big diet changes without factoring in a few days where you might feel more tired or have a headache, though. Consuming fewer salts, sugars, and preservatives will have an impact – but your body will be thankful for all of the nutrient-rich foods in replacement.
For those who don’t like eating fruits and veggies – turn them into smoothies to make them more palatable. Here is a great recipe to get you started: Avocado Smoothie – Rita Reviews.
