‘Tis the season for grownup drinks. Okay, most of the year can be that time of the year. However, the holidays tend to be the times when we share a drink or two with our friends more than the rest of the year. This year I was introduced to Hampton Water Wine and let me tell you I’m in love.
Hampton Water Wine is made in in the South of France from Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes. Can I just say, I have never heard of some of those grapes. Although I don’t claim to be any sort of connoisseur when it comes to wine. I just know what I like and what I don’t. Can I say that I love their name and packaging? It is just so perfect for this wine. It makes you want to grab a bottle.
This is a light rose I would say. It’s hard to tell in the glass but it is certainly a pale blushy rose. The taste is perfect. It isn’t overly sweet like some wines but not too bitter either. This is one of those wines that would complement plenty of food dishes but light enough to be an after dinner wine all by itself. Like I said I don’t know a lot about wine but I known there are some that need food or something else to enjoy them properly. Hampton Water Wine isn’t one of them. I ended up having two glasses when I was taking the pictures. Sometimes you just need to celebrate that you have wine!
The stopper is just as beautiful as the bottle. It is also made of glass and I’m sure Ma will find a way to re-purpose it once the bottle is finished. I believe she has plans to keep the bottle as well since it is a clear one. She will get tons of uses out of it.
I like the occasional glass of wine and Hampton Water was very satisfying. I loved how light it was and it is certainly a wine for those nights when I curl up with a good book. Nothing beats a good book and a fabulous glass of wine. It makes winding down all the more decadent.
