I have never had a pomegranate nor a sangria before in my entire life so when I was asked to review pomagria, a new drink that combines the two, I was very interested. This wine is a blend of pomegranate juice with red wine and oranges and a subtle hint of apples and strawberry. pomagria is the first pomegranate-flavored sangria released in the U.S and I think it will be very popular.
The tasting notes said that it was a deep ruby-crimson in color and that it should be enjoyed over cubed or crushed ice. It was also suggested that it be paired with spicy Mexican dishes. That is right up our alley! Hubby and I decided to have it one night we were going full fledged Mexican at dinner and I will tell you that the deep ruby-crimson color is so beautiful in the glass. The color is so deep that I am not sure if crimson is the right color description. pomagria did have a bit of a tartness to it be when paired with the spiciness of jalapeno peppers it was simply sublime. The spiciness is somehow heighten and much more developed because of the pomagria.
This holiday season as you are preparing meals, having cookie swaps, gift wrapping parties, and all the other events remember to add pomagria to your list. This would be the perfect gift for your girlfriend who loves wine.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I love the combination of oranges and apples with Pomegranate juice. This sounds like a healthy wine to add to my diet!
