Holiday Gift Guide: Targus

Dec 13, 2012 | Rita

Targus Keyboard

Everyone has at least one techy person on their gift list this year. Well I have a great gift for the computer geek in your life and it is the Targus Slim Internet Media USB Keyboard.  If you are using a laptop like I do most of the time I know what you are thinking. Why on Earth would you need a keyboard. Well let me explain why I needed a different keyboard. My laptop keyboard works great but because I use spreadsheets a lot and do a lot of number I really missed having the number pad.

Internet Hot Keys on Keyboard

I would have to stop and look at where the numbers were across the top of the laptop keyboard because I had become so accustomed to using the number pad. Aside from that I really missed a lot of the features that most regular desktop keyboards offer. The Targus Slim Internet Media USB Keyboard actually offers more features that your standard keyboard. Across the top you have internet hot keys that are preprogrammed to go to your internet home, search  email, and more. It is great to turn on the computer and click one button to get the internet going and open my email.

Multimedia Keys

Another great features is the Multimedia keys that allow you to play music or videos, fast forward them and control the sound all from the keyboard. It really help when I am editing podcasts and more to be able to  use simple one touch button to do what I want. Also when I am listening to music and the phone rings I don’t have to go into a program to turn it down. I just turn a dial with my finger. The keyboard has a slim design so it doesn’t take up a lot of desk space and it is very stylish. The only downside is that it is wired but since it is slim and lightweight it can easily be taken with you.

Targus has much more than just keyboards, they also have carrying cases, power supplies such as chargers, and so much more. There is sure to be something for that techy person on your list for this year and many more years to come.

My son is going to use a small 10 inch lap computer and some of the keys are shot. This would be perfect for him. Hate to just ditch a computer that works otherwise. H’es only 15 so he would be thrilled to have anything. My husband is a computer guy and this is something I am going to show him. I know he will speak highly of the “hot keys” on the top to get quicker access! Thanks for the review Rita!
