The holidays are a time for baking but what if you don’t have time to don’t all from scratch? That’s where The Invisible Chef comes in. They put together mixes that makes all of your baking taste and look like you spent hours. As someone who is always super busy I can appreciate anything that makes my life easier. I just need one of those celebrity chef presenters to showcase the brilliance that is my baking with these mixes.
The Invisible Chef, love the company name by the way, was created by two bakers slash business associates. They have created products that so wonderful, easy to use, and create some of the best food I have tasted from a mix.
The Maple Oat Walnut Tea Cake Mix was something I really wanted to try. It took just a few minutes to put together and get it into the oven. What came out was a work of art. Okay maybe not in the sense your thinking but it had tasted this you would agree. It reminded me of something my grandmother would have made.
Doesn’t that look beautiful. I did it in a loaf pan because I felt it would be the best way to serve it.
I was right about that too. It cut easily and everyone got a nice slice of cake with their tea. Yep, we had this during an afternoon tea because it is a tea cake after all. This cake was full of walnuts. There wasn’t a single bit that I didn’t get a walnut along with the cake.
The French Breakfast Puffs in Cinnamon Sugar were something I made one night when everyone was wanting something sweet. I’m not even gonna tell you how many I ate. They were so good. The sugar on the top made the even better. I lived how simple and easy they were to make. There wasn’t anything to them yet they came out looking much more complex. Again reminding me something my grandmother would have made.
I didn’t have any muffin cups so I did them without any. I hadn’t done that before and I think these turned out well.
Just look at that sugar! There was just enough sugar to add a little sweetness to the whole thing. it wasn’t overly sweet at all.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Both mixes were so good and looks beautiful when I presented them. I could easily see myself using The Invisible Chef mixes again and again.
