Holiday Traditions with Hickory Farms

Nov 20, 2014 | Rita

Hickory Farms

Disclosure: Compensation and products for review were provided by Hickory Farms via MomTrends. I received a free sample of the product for the purpose of this review and to facilitate a giveaway.  The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions of Hickory Farms.

Hickory Farms is a tradition in my family and has been for as long as I can remember. I can remember heading to the mall every holiday season to find the perfect gift basket for the year. Usually the basket was for my father but there were years when he would go and pick out his own. It was wonderful and was one of the signals that Christmas was truly coming. Now I send one to my siblings very year. My brother starts calling me around Halloween to ask when his is arriving and his wife has fallen in love with them just as much.

Hickory Farms Party Planner

I received the Hickory Farms Party Planner Box which was filled with cheese and summer sausage. Can we just take a moment to love the summer sausage? My poor stomach has a hard time with this now and I have to take several acid reducers and antacids but I can eat a whole one of these by myself. It is just so dang good!  But I digress! This box lasted exactly 25 minutes at my house. The moment that my mother and the kids discovered it had arrived they tore into it.

Party Planner

I don’t think my mother even cut the cheese (no pun intended) before she bit into it.  I did get some of the summer sausage and to be honest I should have stopped them but they enjoy it so much and it just remind of my father so much that I didn’t. Every time they would take out an item they would say “Oh it’s Aged Gouda” or whatever. My father used to do that as well. Like a kid in a candy store. Another great thing is that for every Party Planner Box sold Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry. Campaign.
