I shared this recipe a couple of years ago. I thought I would re-share it since it summer. This is one that will work any time of the year depending on the fruit that happens to be in season and what you like. I love doing orange pops in the summer. Cherry works well too. In the fall I do blackberry because I have some frozen that I picked during the summer.
This week I want to share with you my favorite frozen treat when the weather turns hot! It is simple and you will love it.
Ingredients
Directions
- Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into 5 of the pop molds.
- Place in freezer for at least 5 hours or overnight.
Notes
- The fruit can be whatever sort of fruit that you want!
- If you don’t have molds use can use plastic cups. Just fill with the mixture, cover the cup with foil, poke a stick in the middle of the foil and freeze for 5 hours. To get the cups off just submerge about 2/3 of the cup in hot water for 5 seconds and pull on the stick.
- If you are making Orange Flavored pops I use that frozen concentrate, working just like the frozen fruit. Oranges don’t freeze all that well.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

LOL Rita. When I read the post heading, homemade fruit bars, I though oh no I have to bake?!? but so relieved to see you’re talking frozen fruit bars on a stick. Like ice cream. Only better for us! Thank you for the recipe, I’ll no doubt be making this quite a bit this summer. I’ve seen molds for these bars at the Goodwill store, so will pick up a couple when I’m next running thru there. I bet these would be great in ice cube trays to add to fruit drinks too! Thanks for Tasty Tuesday 🙂

I started playing around with recipes like this one (and yours looks ~really~ good!) last summer… when I didn’t have a blender. I did have a small food processor, but for some reason it didn’t occur to me to use it. As I recall, most of my concoctions of turned out sort of like a hopeful blend of coconut water and… fruit?
Anyway!– Thanks, Mom, for decluttering and giving me a REAL blender! 🙂
