You know that quote about when life gives you lemons you make lemonade? What do you do when it seems that life decided to hand an entire bowl of lemons? Well you make lemonade for like a year, that’s what.
There are some weeks when it seems like God woke up and thought it would be funny to place every obstacle in my way. Times when no matter what I do I can’t seem to get past it. Of course I do manage to move on but there have been moments that I’m not what the cost of moving on was.
If you had asked me a few years ago if I would happy being single I would have told no way on God’s green earth. Especially not at 40 years old. I mean women my age aren’t suppose to be alone. Yet I am and I am taking care of my family on my own as well. And, guess what? I am now the happiest I have been since I can’t remember when. In fact I pretty sure the last time I had been this happy was before my dad passed away sixteen years ago.
Life has a funny way of showing you what you’re made of. So I will take my bowl of lemons and enjoy the lemonade I make. I deserve it and will relish each and every moment.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I want your attitude and happiness!! I’ve also heard if you want to be a winner then hang out with winners. That’s one reason I hang out here, thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for wonderfully kind words. I promise it took me a long time to have this attitude.

I really enjoyed reading this post and I really like what you wrote. I am so sorry to read about your father passing. Being single is pretty great if you ask me and I am a little older than you.
Rita says
Thank you. There was a time when I was terrified of being single but now I’m perfectly happy with it.

I’ve had some lemonade moments in my life. I’m now 68 and very content.

I find the older I get the happier I get. My friend said once he reached 40 he became much more content because he was old enough to not care what other people though anymore.

You can freeze whole lemons too, so those lemons are good for the future as well. Keep the good attitude. 🙂
