If you are looking for an excellent workout that can teach you how to protect yourself and to improve your self-confidence then you cannot go wrong if you start practicing some martial art. However, many women have problems starting with this type of activity because they find these sports intimidating. This is a perception that we have because of the many brutal matches we have seen on TV and of course – the movies. However, it is important to understand that the training process is not like that. You don’t have to train like you are preparing for the Olympics. By practicing the basic exercises in these sports you will get a chance to strengthen your muscles and core and even to lose weight fast if necessary.
There are many different martial arts in which women are already involved like Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Aikido, etc. another is throwing stars. For those who don’t know, throwing real ninja stars accurately was a specialty of the Japanese Ninja, and it’s perfect for modern-day pastimes. However, if you want to practice a sport that is very efficient in a place that looks amazing we suggest you to travel to Thailand and join a Muay Thai training camp there. This is a real hit among men and women from around the world in the past two decades.
This ancient martial is good for the health and for many other things. When it comes to health, women can expect to improve their strength, flexibility and movement, self-confidence and willpower. Muay Thai training is also an excellent exercise for developing self-defense skills. This is one of the main reasons why many women practice this sport.
One other thing that makes women glad to join camps like these is the surrounding. Imagine practicing a sport close to a beach and beautiful nature. This is exactly what Thailand can offer. There are many camps on the tropical islands in Thailand where you can enjoy and relax between two training sessions such as Bestmuaythai website . On top of that, you can also enjoy low-calorie Thai cuisine and explore the rich cultural and historic heritage of this incredible country.
So, if you want to invest in your health, but also in your personal experience then we suggest joining a Muay Thai camp in Thailand.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I have been thinking of taking up a martial art. My son has his 2nd Dan Black Belt, and I have seen many of the workouts. I don’t think I would be serious enough to compete, but the workout would be great.
Rita says
I think the workout would be great as well. Not to mention you would have some self-defense training.

My 11-year old daughter takes Tae Kwon Do and will test next year for her 1st degree black belt. I agree it is great conditioning and I feel the self-defense she is taught is useful with the world we live in.

Maye this is something I should look into. It would be great for the weight loss. What I think would be the best for me is it would actually get me moving more. With my Fibromyalgia I need to move as much as I can. The biggest problem is getting myself to move on the days the pain is through the roof. I’ll have to check it out.

I think ANY kind of fighting, dancing, just MOVING is helping you work out… and keeping you healthy. But this looks like a fun way to lose weight ! ! !
Rita says
It does look like a fun way to lose weight plus as I said before it gets you some self defense training as well which is something all women need.
