How do you know that your husband loves you? Is it something he says or does? As a wife putting her marriage back together I often wonder. He says he loves me and I feel it at times. There are other times when I’m not so sure. There are moments when I am two hundred and ten percent sure and then there are others when I think “why did he even bother to come home?”
I was never looking for perfect, I wanted romance but Edgar’s not very romantic. When he attempts it’s wonderful but for the most part he doesn’t bother. I learned to accept that I mean I’m sure I am not everything he thought a wife would be. It’s give and take. A lot of the things he does I allow him to get away with so I have only myself to blame.
A few weeks ago we were apart for days and when he was finally able to call me I could hear the joy in his voice. He told me he had been calling all day (stupid cell phone). even told me to have sweet dreams. Saturday when he called I could hear the joy.
Maybe the old absence makes the heart grow fonder is true. Who knows. I do know this: he doesn’t need me to take care of his “manly” needs, he can get that anywhere. He is a man after all. So the fact that no matter what happens or how long is gone he always comes home to me. He must feel something.
I know a lot of you will read this and think I am a pushover and should get rid of him. Believe I have heard all of it before. All I can say is that I love him and I believe he loves me. I think he just has his priorities out of wack, although they are starting to line up a little more. I have also found that when I treat him the way he treats he he makes a point of doing more or bringing it up. The phone Saturday, I couldn’t hear him the first time he called so when he called back the first thing he asked me was “Why would you not talk to me before”
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
