If you’re planning on moving soon then there’s a good chance that you’ve already looked at articles and blog posts for advice. After all, moving isn’t something that we do very often, so it’s a good idea to look at the internet or even ask our friends for advice on how to make the move as smooth as possible.
The process of moving home can be surprisingly daunting and time-consuming, so anything that we can do to make it easier is generally a good thing. But something that many people overlook is actually in plain sight: your boxes. So in this post, we’re going to be explaining why a few good boxes can make a world of difference when you move home.
Good boxes can take a beating in transit
The last thing anyone wants when moving is to have boxes fall apart in transit. If you ever put anything heavy in a box, then there’s a good chance that it’s going to start breaking apart during transit because of all the vibrations and movements. However, if you get yourself a good set of boxes that are sturdy, durable, and also reusable, then you’ve got a great investment on your hands that can help make your move a lot smoother. You can reuse those boxes for a future move, and they can even be used as a storage solution when you move into your new home.
Good boxes can clearly be labeled
While many of us like to reuse cardboard boxes, there’s one thing that makes this annoying; labeling. If you don’t have a clear place to label your boxes then it’s just going to get annoying when you’re organizing things. Get yourself some plain boxes so that you can easily label or even color code them for easy sorting. At the very least, consider getting large labels so that it’s easier to list what’s inside each box.
Good boxes are easy to obtain
You might think that getting some good moving boxes can be annoying or expensive, but the reality is that you could just get them for free. Lots of people hold on to their moving boxes after a move in case they need to travel or move again in the future. These people are fairly likely to lend you some of their boxes, especially if you plan to return them. You could also speak with your moving company to see if they’re willing to offer some boxes for your move. While some companies charge a bit extra for sturdy boxes, it’s often worth the added cost just to keep your things safe.
Good boxes can hold more
And of course, a nice sturdy box can hold a lot more things and keep them safe. It’s usually better to just have one large box with lots of stuff inside as opposed to several smaller boxes. It’s just easier to handle and a lot less work to carry one box back and forth than making several trips. You’ll also be able to fit more in a sturdy box without worrying about it falling apart.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
