There’s something so exciting about getting to move. Having the opportunity to move means you’re giving yourself a fresh new start. You’ll be seeing new faces, living in a new environment, and so many other great changes. While moving can be a beautiful and exciting adventure, there are going to be downsides as well. One of the major downsides will include the whole moving process itself.
There is so much more that goes into moving. Once you find the place you’re moving to, all the hard work begins which includes packing, saying goodbye, the great movie, unpacking, and getting organized. All of it can be pretty tiring and frustrating. But in the end, you know it’s all going to be worth it. But how can you get the whole family on board for being active when the big day to move happens? These are some helpful tips!
Begin by doing a purge
Get your whole family involved in this. The less there is to pack means the less there is to move and unpack. There is a very high chance that you and your family have accumulated so much stuff over the years. You probably have a lot of stuff, stuff that you don’t even remember. So go ahead and go through your closets, attic, basement, and anywhere else that may have some stuff.
Get your children to learn the difference between what they have to have and what’s not needed. While it can be hard to say goodbye to old belongings, it helps with pushing for that fresh start. So just go ahead and either sell or donate your old items.
Let the kids help wherever they can
Moving can be stressful for the whole family and this is going to include your children as well. Talk to them about what their concerns are about moving. Also, talk to them about what they may be looking for in the next home such as a music room. It’s just best to try and hype them up for all the new and exciting things that will be coming their way soon.
Don’t forget all the big and little things
Since the whole moving experience can really crowd up the brain, it’s important to not forget any of the details, big and small. Make sure you already picked some good interstate removalists that you know for a fact will show on the day that they’re needed. It’s also important to turn off power in your old house and turn on the power at the new house before moving it. It can all get blurred which is why it’s important to write a To-Do list, as this can be one of the best ways to help you out.
Give yourself and your family time to relax
Moving can be hectic, and it just drains so much energy from you. So let yourself and your family take a nice long break from this. Look into doing things that you can all enjoy together such as playing board games, going out, or even just having a good meal.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
