How to Stay Energized During a Pandemic

Feb 15, 2021 | Rita

The pandemic has taken its toll on a lot of us.

From work to childcare, to mental health, it continues to push us to our limits.

Knowing how to stay energized has never been more critical. As we find ourselves indoors far more than we are used to, it is very easy to succumb to exhaustion, and fatigue.

Luckily, there are some things you can do to help. So forget Googling how to keep energy levels up. These tips will help you with staying energized during a pandemic.

What Is Pandemic Fatigue?

Before asking how to reduce fatigue, it’s important to understand what it is.

Think about how much worry, concern, and problems you have experienced since the start of the pandemic. The whole situation is daunting and challenging, and the constant social distancing, isolating, staying at home, working from home, masks, gloves, and the general change to life is just exhausting.

This is causing people to experience pandemic fatigue. Here are some signs of feeling low on energy due to the pandemic:

  • Lack of energy
  • Isolating from others
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Loneliness
  • No motivation
  • Feeling on edge
  • Eating more or less than usual
  • Sleeping more or less than usual
  • Trouble focusing
  • Mind racing

But what can we do about it? And how can we boost our energy levels, and feel better during a pandemic?

How to Stay Energized

Understanding how to reduce pandemic fatigue will help you, and those who you live with, feel better and more energetic.

These tips for how to stay awake and how to keep your energy levels up while staying at home will help.

Switch Off the News

Having the news on 24/7 can play havoc with our minds. If the pandemic is already causing your anxiety levels to skyrocket, and you find that you are glued to a screen – then switch it off.

It is important to stay well-informed and up to date, but too much can take its toll on your mental health and your energy, leaving you feeling fatigued.

Consider a Supplement

Taking a supplement containing glucose or glucosamine, such as Glucosamine Tablets from Vitabiotics, can help boost energy and strength levels. Take one a day with a healthy diet and see if it makes a difference.

Eat Well

A healthy, nutritious diet can work wonders for your energy levels and overall feeling of wellness. It can be easy to snack on junk when you are home all day long. So try swapping those chips for carrot sticks and hummus. See what other healthy food choices you can make for you and your family.

Make Time to Connect

With so many of us stuck at home and not able to see loved ones, it has never been more important to stay connected.

One of the main causes of pandemic fatigue is loneliness. Being alone and isolated is hugely stressful, so take the time to connect with others in a safe way. Arrange video meetups with your friends, sign up for a webinar, take part in virtual game nights. If it is allowed in your area, meet up for a socially distanced walk with a friend.

Reduce Stress

If you are working all day, homeschooling, and maintaining your household, you are sure to be feeling stressed. Do whatever you can to have a little “me time” once a day. Practice meditation or yoga. Go for a walk outdoors. Snuggle up with a book and a glass of wine. Or just take the time to take deep, calming breaths.

Staying Energized During a Pandemic

Whether you need a little boost to your immune system, or the willpower to go on a daily walk, these tips on how to stay energized are perfect to adopt now and at any time.
